What is WBL?

Want to get a job but don’t have the skills? Then work-based learning is for ambitious people like you! This is an option that allows you to earn while you learn and is a genuine alternative to the traditional academic choices. For those who wish to, this can lead to a degree qualification further down the line.

Work-based learning, as the name suggests, is delivered mainly in the workplace and is designed to allow the learner to continue developing their skills, whilst working and being observed and assessed.

In addition, it may also involve completing a technical qualification, relating to your chosen occupation, which could be completed on day release to a College or Learning Provider.

Completing your training will give you a nationally recognised qualification which will improve your employability and increase your chances of promotion. In this brochure we will explain your options and direct you to those providers who can help you to start your career.

Get a job, get paid, get trained, go further (Aimhigher) with an Apprenticeship. Available in a wide range of occupational areas so whatever your interests are, there is bound to be something for you.

You can do an Apprenticeship at two levels — either Apprenticeship (level 2) or Advanced Apprenticeship (level 3) — whatever suits you best.

If you’re not quite ready for an Apprenticeship then e2e (Entry to Employment) could be right for you.
