At Lancashire WBL Executive Forum we are aware of the difficult decision that young people have to face when it comes to school options and their future careers.  Its our aim to give young people the best of both worlds – allowing them to continue with their studies, whilst gaining valuable experience in the workplace, through a range of exciting vocational Apprenticeships.

We bring together training providers from across the county to present the best possible range of learning and employment opportunities to young people in Lancashire.  The Forum represents over 23 Work Based Learning providers from across Lancashire, giving learners access to a portfolio of industry sectors and Apprenticeship programmes from Horticulture to IT, Child Care to Engineering.  There is an option for everyone.

Apprenticeships are government funded and offer a structured framework for young people to gain qualifications as well as on the job knowledge and relevant practical skills, ideal for those who are ready to start work but are eager to progress their learning.  They provide a great way of helping people to develop skills and build up their expertise in their chosen industry.

Our network of Training providers gives our partner schools:-

  • Access to a breadth of knowledge, experience and expertise in vocational training.
  • High quality Work Based Training
  • Links with over 10,000 Lancashire employers across all industry sectors.
  • Provision of excellent training packages

We aim through this website to maximise the potential of the relationship between schools and WBL providers to help you equip pupils with the right information and advice with which to make better-informed decisions.
