WHO DO YOU WORK FOR AND WHAT DO THEY DO? 

LMC Business (at Lancaster & Morecambe College). LMC Business is tasked with consulting with local and regional businesses to analyse and sell 19+ work based apprenticeships to their staff. This is to upskill and promote investment of staff in companies. 

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE? 

It wasn’t my first choice; however I wouldn’t be able to build the foundations of my career without it.  

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY IN YOUR WORK LIFE INVOLVE? 

My daily duties include many strands; however the main and most vital role is to profile suitable candidates and ‘match’ them with the current vacancies. Any given week I account manage 40+ companies & vacancies. 

I enjoyed the variety of the NVQ, Business Administration provides you with the basic knowledge of how businesses work, from the mail run to management & communication.  

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY AND WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING AN APPRENTICE? 

One of the best things about apprenticeships is knowing where it could take you, if you work hard and are clear about what you need to do then you can earn the salary you want with the career you crave. 

WHAT ARE YOUR CAREER PLANS AND WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE DOING IN 5 YEARS’ TIME? 

Work my way up the chain of command with management. 

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT?  

I am an amazing chef.

I have been mistaken for a racing driver on more than one occasion 

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TO SOMEONE THINKING ABOUT BECOMING AN APPRENTICE? 

Apprentices can take you anywhere, so strive, seek, find and do not yield.
