Lancashire County Council, local government.

Why did you choose to become an apprentice?
It was an opportunity to expand my knowledge base and to support my working day.

What does your day in your work life involve?
Managing 50+ staff deployed across the county, dealing with councillors, the public, keeping traffic moving!

What do you enjoy and what is the best thing about being an apprentice?
The diversity of the subject covered and how it supports my working practice.

What are your career plans and what would you like to be doing in 5 years’ time?
I wish to still be working at the council, hopefully progressed up the management statue.

What is your greatest achievement?
Convincing my, now wife, to marry me.

Give us one fun fact about yourself!
Before coming to the council I worked for BHS (which went well).

What is the best piece of advice you would give to someone thinking about becoming an apprentice?
Ensure you can monitor your work/ life balance.
