+24 Marketing – Marketing sector

+24 Marketing is a strategic digital agency based in Burnley, Lancashire.

We combine a positive and enthusiastic attitude with a wealth of experience across a broad range of sectors.

Our mission is to make a difference to businesses; locally, regionally, nationally.

We have been trusted by organisations of all sizes to develop their brands, generate more sales opportunities and communicate their values to their target audience.

Our philosophy is not only to do what we’re asked, but to offer a service which will ensure the very best results, now and in the future.

Which type of Apprenticeships do you offer?
We offer both Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships – including Social Media, Digital Marketing and Software Development.

Why did you choose to hire an apprentice?
We’re passionate about developing the next generation of talent. Our hope is that by choosing an apprenticeship, rather than going to university, we will be able to retain some of that talent in Lancashire.

Also, software development in particular is a very competitive market when it comes to recruitment so training our own staff is a good alternative.

What benefits has your company seen from hiring apprentices?
Apprentices inject new energy and different ways of thinking into our business. Our social media team need to have their finger on the pulse to track the latest developments in the industry and our apprentices help to drive that as they are the early adopters.

What is the best piece of advice you would give to someone thinking about becoming or hiring an apprentice?
For new apprentices, I would recommend speaking to a few businesses to make sure you find the right opportunity for you. It’s important to find a business that fits with your values and will give you the opportunity to develop in your role.

I would give similar advice for businesses thinking of taking on an apprentice. Find someone who understands your values and make sure you can give them the necessary time to develop.

Please tell us a positive story regarding apprenticeships that you can share?
We hired Dan, our first apprentice, in December 2014 as a Junior Web Developer. He quickly demonstrated his ability and become a vital part of our team so we were extremely keen to keep him on beyond his apprenticeship. Nearly 3 years later, Dan continues to be a core member of the +24 team and is trusted to work on some of our largest development projects.
